China reaches rare earth export agreement with the United States

China and the U.S. formalized a trade agreement facilitating the export of rare earth minerals and magnets critical for U.S. manufacturing and microelectronics. While China will maintain a permitting process, it agreed to expedite approvals, and the U.S. softened some trade restrictions in return.
